Kashi/ash gourd halwa

Ever since I had this halwa in my son's Upanayanam ,I wanted to try this at home.So here is the recipe..

 

Ingredients:

Ash gourd grated 2 cups

Sugar 1 1/2 cups

Ghee 3 tbs

Cardamom powder a pinch

Cashew nuts 5-7

Raisins 10-15

 

Method:

Grate ash gourd and cook this in pressure cooker for 3 whistles.

Transfer this to a Kadai add sugar and cook stirring untill all the moisture evaporates.

Add ghee and cardamom powder.

Add fried cashew and raisins in a teaspoon of ghee.

Switch off the heat. Halwa is ready. Enjoy...
